Es sei <math>(X, \mathcal O_X)</math> ein geringter Raum (es ist also <math>X</math> ein [[topologischer Raum]] und <math>\mathcal O_X</math> eine [[Garbe (Mathematik)|Garbe]] von Ringen über <math>X</math>). Eine Garbe <math>\mathcal F</math> von [[abelsche Gruppe|abelschen Gruppen]] über <math>X</math> heißt eine <math>\mathcal O_X</math>-Modulgarbe (oder auch Garbe von <math>\mathcal O_X</math>-Moduln) wenn für jedes offene <math>U \subset X</math> die abelsche Gruppe <math>\mathcal F(U)</math> ein <math>\mathcal O_X(U)</math>-Modul ist und die Strukturhomomorphismen von <math>\mathcal F</math> und <math>\mathcal O_X</math> verträglich sind.
