Mallaranny<ref>Placenames Database of Ireland: Mallaranny/an Mhala Raithní</ref> (auch: Mulranny, {{#invoke:Vorlage:lang|full|CODE=ga|SCRIPTING=Latn|SERVICE=irisch}}) ist ein Ort im County Mayo in der Provinz Connacht in Irland. Er liegt an der Landenge zwischen der Halbinsel An Corrán und dem irischen Festland, der die Clew Bay von der Blacksod Bay trennt.

Verkehr

Mallaranny liegt an der Nationalstraße N59, die nach Norden und Westen in Richtung Ballina, sowie nach Süden in Richtung Westport führt. Die R319 beginnt hier und führt über die Halbinsel An Corrán auf die Insel Acaill.

Von 1895 bis 1937 lag der Ort an der Bahnlinie von Newport nach Gob an Choire (Achill Sound).<ref>Bahnlinie. Abgerufen am 1. Januar 2026.</ref> Heute wird die Trasse als Rad- und Wanderweg Great Western Greenway genutzt.

Busse von Bus Éireann sowie TFI Local Link halten mehrmals täglich hier. Sie bedienen Acaill (Achill), Béal an Mhuirthead (Belmullet) im Westen und Norden sowie Newport, Westport und Castlebar Richtung Osten und Süden.

Veranstaltungen

Jedes Jahr findet das „mediterrane Heide-Festival“ (Mediterranean Heather Festival) statt, das die Pflanzenwelt der Gegend thematisiert. So gibt es neben anderen exotischen Pflanzen hier beispielsweise Riesenfuchsien.
