Parametertransformation

Als Parametertransformation wird in der Analysis eine stetige und streng monotone Abbildung bezeichnet, die den Parameter eines Weges ändert.

Formale Definition

Sind <math>\gamma_1\colon[a,b] \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^n</math> und <math>\gamma_2\colon[\alpha,\beta] \rightarrow \mathbb{R}^n</math> zwei Wege und ist <math>f\colon [a,b] \rightarrow [\alpha, \beta]</math> eine stetige und streng monotone Funktion mit

<math>\gamma_1(t) = \gamma_2(f(t))</math> für alle <math>t \in [a, b]</math>, also <math>\gamma_1 = \gamma_2 \circ f</math>,

Ist <math>f</math> streng monoton wachsend, so wird die Parametertransformation orientierungstreu genannt. Falls die Parametertransformation <math>f</math> streng monoton fallend ist, wird sie orientierungsumkehrend genannt.

Wenn <math>f</math> und die Umkehrfunktion <math>f^{-1}</math> stetig differenzierbar sind, dann nennt man <math>f</math> eine <math>C^1</math>-Parametertransformation.
