Insbesondere im hart umkämpften Reseller-Markt bedienen sich Telekommunikationbetreiber dieses Vorgehens, um Kunden zu gewinnen. Notwendige Unterschriften von Kunden für diesen Wechsel wurden erschlichen, in dem etwa bei Wettbewerben oder Promotionsangeboten noch Kleingedrucktes ergänzt wurde.
