Verbreitungsgebiet des Tersamischen (Nr. 9) im samischen Sprachraum

Tersamisch ist die östlichste aller samischen Sprachen und gehört somit zur uralischen Sprachfamilie. Heute gibt es vielleicht noch 2 aktive Tersamischsprecher auf der Halbinsel Kola im Nordosten Russlands. Mit Stand 2011 haben etwa 20 Personen Sprachkenntnisse auf verschiedenen Niveaus. Die Sprache ist nicht nur vom Aussterben bedroht, sondern auch relativ schlecht dokumentiert und beschrieben.

Schriftsprache

Tersamisch hat keine offizielle Schriftsprache. Als einziger tersamischer Text erschien 1989 der kleine Gedichtband Jalla von Oktjabrina Woronowa. Er wurde in kildinsamischer Rechtschreibung und mit dem zusätzlichen Buchstaben ы̄ gedruckt.<ref>{{#invoke:Vorlage:Literatur|f}}</ref>
